Samsung Galaxy S GT I9000 – Steps to Install Gingerbread 2.3.5 XWJVU Firmware

Procedure to install Gingerbread 2.3.5 XWJVU on your Samsung Galaxy S GT I9000:

  • Before proceeding you need to download the Gingerbread 2.3.5 XWJVU Package from here to your phone and then you need to extract the same to your phone. Please note that in the process of unzipping, you will be prompted to enter the password. Enter the password as “androidadvices.com” without the inverted comas.

  • As soon as the files are extracted, you will have to now match with the extracted files screen capture which is mentioned below. Please note that if at all if there are any files which are missing then you will have to again re download and unzip the same from the above link.
  • XWJVU Extracted FilesNow, from the extracted files you need to open the Odin flash tool from the extracted files as shown in the below screen capture.

  • After this, turn Off your phone so that you can then enter into the download mode. The download mode can be entered by pressing down on Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. Just in case if the phone boots up in the normal mode then you need to again try the process as without entering download mode it’s not recommend to proceed forward.

  • As soon as the download mode is entered, you will now need to connect the device to the computer using the USB cable which you got at the time of purchase. As soon as you connect the device to the computer while keeping the Odin opened in your computer, you will see that in Odin ID : COM section will turn yellow which means that all the drivers which are required for the firmware update has been successfully updated and you are now ready to proceed to the firmware update.

  • After this you need to select the files in the Odin by clicking on the corresponding options.

  • Once you select the file, you need to match all other settings like Re Partition option from the below screen capture. After this, you need to click on the “Start” tab to start the process of the firmware update. Please note that in the process of firmware update ensure that you are not interrupting the process of firmware update or else you may face issues like phone not turning ON.

  • Once the firmware update is over, the device will be restarted. You will then be asked to enter the Google account credentials as well as the Language preferences and after entering just turn Off the phone so that you can then enter into the recovery mode. The recovery mode can be entered by pressing Volume Up Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button.

  • Once you enter into the recovery mode select the options Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition and then reboot your device by selecting reboot system now option to clear all the cache.
