Procedure to Update Samsung Galaxy S with Build 16 ICS Android 4.0.3 Firmware:
- Download Build 16 ICS Android 4.0.3 Firmware Zip Package, Google Apps with Face Unlock and Google Apps Fixer Package from here to your computer. After downloading all the three packages in your computer, connect your Galaxy S with the computer and copy all these three files in your SD Card. Ensure that you are not placing these files into the sub folder or else it will not get detected in the recovery mode.
- The current firmware in your Galaxy S should be XXJVU Firmware ONLY. You can check the firmware from the path “Settings > About Phone > Firmware Version” where it should show the current firmware is XXJVU firmware. Just in case if you are already on this firmware then you can skip the below mentioned steps and proceed to the second step.
- After copying all the files, you need to turn Off your phone so that it can be then entered in recovery mode.
- The recovery mode can be entered by “Pressing Volume Up key+ Menu Key + Power ON the device”. Once you enter into the recovery mode, you need to select “Wipe data/factory reset” & “Wipe Cache partition” so that this will clear the cache which is there in your device.
- Select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from sd card” > Build 16 ICS Android 4.0.3 Firmware Zip Package, Google Apps with Face Unlock and Google Apps Fixer Package in the same order as mentioned here one after another. It will take around 10 minutes to process all these three files.
- After this, you need to select “++++ Go Back ++++” and then select “reboot system now” to reboot the phone.
- So, as soon as all the files are processed one by one in the recovery mode the device will be again be booted up in the recovery mode. The device will take around 20 minutes for updating the device.
- In recovery mode select “Wipe data/factory reset” & “Wipe Cache partition” so that this will clear the cache after which select “++++ Go Back ++++” and select “reboot system now” which will restart the Galaxy S.
