Samsung Galaxy Nexus available in Canada via Virgin Mobile & Bell

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus after much hype and mostly reaching a dozen countries now arrives in Canada before it’s launched in United States. The interested customers of Canada can now enjoy the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Galaxy Nexus, a Google phone by Samsung with 4.65 inches HD Super AMOLED display has been released from Virgin Mobile Canada and subsidiary of Bell Canada. The device is readily available for purchase and it supports the HSPA+ connectivity with a maximum speed of up to 21 Mbps and takes your browsing to next level. It’s available at a price of $ 159.99 with post-paid plans and contract with either Virgin Mobiles or with Bell Canada. The phone is also available at $ 649.99 without any contract or agreement. The Rogers and Telus network will start selling this device as early as January 2012.

Going into the specifications, Galaxy Nexus is featured packed device which introduces the much awaited Ice Cream Sandwich of Google owned Android operating system for mobiles. This Android 4.0 brings out the entirely a new look and feel on the Android platform which will be base for many of the upcoming smartphones. The phone is ultra slim and it’s curved with sleek design. It’s powered with dual core 1.2 Ghz processor and includes an amazing 4.65 inches Super AMOLED HD display as seen on the many of the latest Samsung handsets. It includes 5 mega pixel continuous auto focus rear camera along with rear facing 1.3 mega pixel front camera. This allows you to take single motion panoramic pictures with just point and touch the shutter and pan your phone from one side to another. Yes, the 1080p HD video recording is also possible with this device and quick sharing option includes the Android beam, NFC technology for tap and share and Wi-Fi Direct for faster wireless data transfer.

And regarding the United States launch, it will be launched soon with no fix date and we expect that it will come with a surprise as that we have seen it with Canada launch. Its for sure that it will come on the Verizon Wireless network and we expect the price of it would be around $ 199 in contract. Also there are lot more devices waiting for the Android Ice Cream Sandwich update but it looks like that the official update will come early in the month of January 2012.
