Recently, Samsung launched September Android security update for its flagship devices. The Samsung Galaxy S6 series, S7 series, Galaxy Note 4, Note Edge, Galaxy A8, Galaxy S6 Edge+ and some other devices in different regions getting this update. Even Samsung rolling out the update for 3-year-old device Galaxy S5. The company already rolled out August Security update for Galaxy S5 and looks like it will provide these updates on a regular basis for Galaxy S5. We can also expect Android Nougat update as well for Galaxy S5.
It is reported that Indian users of Galaxy S5 smartphone are getting September Android Security update. The size of the update is 45MB for the model number SM-G9001. To get this update just connect your smartphone to a reliable Wi-FI or network and an update notification will pop up on screen. If this does not appear. Just head over to settings>About phone> software update and manually check for the update. You should also check if you are eligible for the update or not because currently, it is rolling out to the Galaxy S5 with model number GB-G9001 only. You can check out the model number in About Device section of settings.
With this update, a report claims that it improved the stability of the device. Talking about the Samsung Galaxy S5, it has 5.1-inch HD super AMOLED display on top along with 1920*1080 pixel resolution. The pixel density of the screen is 432ppi. It comes with 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor along with Adreno 330 GPU. It has 2GB RAM on board. The device is IP 67 certified that means it is water and dust resistant.
It was launched in black, blue, white and gold colours. It has 16-megapixel autofocus rear camera with BSI sensor. There is the 2.1-megapixel front camera as well for selfies. It has 32GB internal storage along with memory card support up to 128GB. Galaxy S5 has 2800mAh Li-ion battery. Talking about the connectivity of device it is a 4G smartphone with micro SIM card support.
