Samsung sends official statement about Galaxy S5 Price in India – Details

The South Korean Electronics giant has been in the news with its flagship Samsung Galaxy S5 that has been priced high in the Indian market at Rs. 51,500, we have seen that HTC One (M8) is going to be released soon and is priced at Rs. 49,900 which less than the Galaxy S5. Many believed that Samsung would be dropping its price in order to compete with HTC, but the company has denied this and issued a statement.

Samsung Electronics, India’s leading smart phone manufacturer, today clarified that the market price of the Galaxy S5 has not been slashed by the company. Samsung Electronics’ flagship smart phone, which was launched in March 2014, continues to be priced at Rs. 51,500. Galaxy Gear 2 is priced at Rs. 21,900 and both Galaxy Gear 2 Neo and Galaxy Gear Fit are priced at Rs. 15,900 each. This pricing is based on robust demand and increasing sales. The company further added that reports claiming Samsung Electronics has revised prices of Galaxy S5 are false and baseless. Galaxy S5 was made available in India through Samsung’s retail stores and online sites starting April 11, 2014

The company claimed that the Galaxy S5 sale in India are increasing and the priced is also accomplished with the demand. It is more likely that individual retailers can cut down from the MRP of the device which is at 51,500 as we have seen Flipkart and Snapdeal cutting down the price earlier. Samsung also said that the Galaxy Gear 2 and the Galaxy Gear 2 Neo that was launched along with the Galaxy S5 will be priced at Rs. 21,900 and 15,900 respectively in India.

Interestingly sales of the Galaxy S5 sales are increasing ever after its high price. The Samsung Galaxy S5 is officially priced at Rs. 51,500 in its online and offline stores.
