The Galaxy S6 is only a couple of weeks away from being officially unveiled at MWC 2015. In recent days, we have seen many leaks that have given a good idea regarding the phone’s design and specs.Here we round up everything there is to know about the Samsung Galaxy S6 “Project Zero” smartphone, including release date, price, specs rumours and leaked case details.

Samsung Galaxy S6 will be unveiled the day before MWC 2015. Samsung has already sent the invites for the 1 March 2015 Unpacked event. Samsung is known to launch their S series smartphones the day before MWC event.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Specs


The Samsung Galaxy S6 is expected to feature a 5.5 inch Quad-HD display with 1440×2560 (534ppi) resolution. According to some reports, the screen will be protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 4. A variant of the Samsung Galaxy S6, i.e.Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, is also expected to launch with its normal variant and it will come with a curved edge screen on both the side.

Samsung Galaxy S6 is supposed to feature a basic metal design. We have seen the same type of design in the alpha series of smartphones. The smartphone is expected to come with speakers at the back, selfie camera as well, wide angle main camera, and a mini HDMI out. The S6 is also expected to come with a pair of Sennheiser earphones.


Samsung Galaxy S6 is expected to come with a 20-megapixel rear camera (with optical image stabilization) and a 5-megapixel front facing camera.

Earlier today, Samsung has posted a new teaser video on Twitter about its Unpacked 2015.The video talks about the inspiration for “Great vision” and “A unique view” with a hashtag of #TheNextGalaxy.


With the Galaxy S6, Samsung has been rumoured to be working on optimizing its software to near-stock Android level. The Galaxy S6 will come with apps like Microsoft OneNote, OneDrive, Office Mobile (with a free Office 365 subscription), and Skype. In terms of performance, TouchWiz on the Galaxy S6 is said to be amazingly fast when compared to Android Lollipop on the Galaxy Note 4.

Processor, Memory and Storage

Samsung Galaxy S6 will run on its homegrown Exynos 7420 chip.The chipset will roughly power around 90 percent of Samsung Galaxy S6 handsets. The Exynos 7420 is a 64-bit chip with four Cortex-A53 and four Cortex-A57 cores.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 was expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, but Samsung faced overheating issues with the Snapdragon 810 that led Samsung to drop Qualcomm processor.

On the storage front, the phone is rumoured to come in 32-, 64- and 128 GB models. Samsung is likely to equip the Galaxy S6 with 3GB of RAM, plus a microSD slot that accepts up to 128GB.

The Galaxy S6 is expected to bring new and innovative features such as Extended S Health, Secondary e-ink display and Add-on camera lenses.With the help of extended S Health, you’ll be able to measure blood sugar in addition to heart rate. You’ll also be able to upload the results to the cloud. Secondary e-ink display will work as the secondary display for reading e-books.
