Samsung Galaxy S6 vs HTC One M9 – What’s Your Choice – VOTE NOW

Who all are not familiar with MWC, let us tell you that it is the biggest mobile tech show, which happens every year sometime in late February or early March. Vendors and OEMs from around the world gather at one place with thousands of gadgets, and that makes all the tech community go crazy excited. Practically, it is like Christmas for technology enthusiasts.

Now coming down to the real talk, the rumours around what Samsung and HTC flagships will come with. The Last year’s flagships Galaxy S5 was announced during the MWC 2014 week while HTC One M8 was announced couple of weeks later in March. The point is that this year in MWC, HTC decided to announce its flagship M9 and has already sent invites for March 1st Press event. As well as Samsung Galaxy S6 is also said to be revealed in the MWC stage. Therefore, it seems like a right time that these two handsets go head-on before the final unveil next week.

While Samsung Galaxy S6 is expected to get a major design overhaul this year, we can’t say that about the HTC One M9. As for the rumors going on around the tech community, and with all the recent leaks by a notorious leaker, @Upleaks, we had the look at official product demo before its official unveiling next week. And the design language is still looked similar to the video. While the new supposed UltraPixel front camera would be something that people never thought would come. But looking at the trend of selfies, HTC though it would be a good idea to put that rear camera module of last year’s M8 to the front on this year’s M9.

Talking about the design aesthetics of upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6, there may be a complete design overhaul rumors going around, but looking at the recent image leaks, there isn’t much of the change in that too. Except for the speaker and audio jack would be shifted to the bottom edge. Although, company is reported to come up with a dual edge screen variant of S6, much like Note Edge, that has only one side edge screen.

Moving on to the Display on both of these flagships. Last year was the year of 2K displays on phone, with LG G3, and Note 4 coming up with that high-resolution displays, the new flagship from these two are rumoured to come up with Quad-HD display (2K). While Samsung Galaxy S6 will sport a 5.1-inch display, the HTC One M9 may come up with larger 5.5-inch display. But there are talks that S6 may come with only 2600mAh battery, which would take a big hit if the device is coming up with 2K display, which would have PPI of around 577. No doubt that it would be the highest PPI on any display on a smartphone, but it would make sense to do that.

On the case with HTC, company is said to come up with 2880mAh or 3000mAh battery. The same question arises here too. Whether a 2K display with 5.5-inch would be a good option to go with or not. It may be a better choice for the company to go with larger display, but only a full HD display, leaving any thoughts for 2K display.

Remember, everything here is rumoured and reports going on in the tech community, so take everything with a grain of salt. Some rumors are from reliable and accurate sources, while some may have come from inaccurate sources, there is no saying of that. For your convenience, we have gathered those raw numbers and spec sheets, based on what has been heard about these new flagships so far.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Specs (Rumored)

  • 5.1-inch Quad-HD Super AMOLED display, 577 PPI
  • Snapdragon 10 or Exynos Chipset (64-bit eight core)
  • 32GB/64GB/128GB internal storage
  • 20MP rear camera with OIS
  • 5MP front facing camera
  • 2600mAh battery with Wireless charging support

One M9 Specs (Rumored)

  • 5.5-inch 2K display

  • 20MP rear camera
  • 4 Ultrapixel front facing camera
  • Dual HTC Boom Sound Speakers with Dolby 5.1 Audio
  • 2880 or 3000mAh battery

The cameras on both flagships are to be believed of somewhere around 20MP or 20.7MP. While some would say that the HTC One M8 failed to offer a great experience with Duo cameras, we see a light of hope on this year’s rear module on M9. Whereas the front module would be of 4 UltraPixel.

Samsung Galaxy S6 is rumoured to be sporting the similar 20MP camera, but will have an advantage of optical image stabilization. The front module would probably be of 5MP. With the increase in the camera module numbers, these two may be the best camera phones of 2015.

Final Thoughts

Concluding the story, it can’t be assured that these rumours would be completely true, but if they are even partially correct. The conclusion would be that the upgrades may be worth the time if you are waiting for these devices to announce and launch in your region.

Though, one thing is clear that these may be the best phones among what to come in the coming months of the year 2015, if not sooner. Now that MWC is around the corner, these companies would not make you wait much longer, as such we all are excited to see what’s in store for us.
