Softbank, the Japanese carrier has announced the two Aquos devices from Sharp, the Aquos Xx and the Aquos Xx Mini with some high-end specs, but the phones are limited to the Japanese market and we won’t be seeing them available internationally any time. There is no compromise to the specifications of the Aquos Xx but the design is not much appreciable, except the extremely thin bezel, which is the reason why the screen is able to take 82% of the area on the front side. There is a 5.5-inch 1080p S-CG Silicon TFT screen, which is different from the IGZO screen which Sharp used earlier, due to its own reasons.
The internal powering provided by Sharp in the Aquos Xx is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, with the quad-core processor clocking at 2.2 GHz, having a support by 2GB of RAM. On the rear side, there is a 16.3-megapixel CMOS sensor with an aperture of f/1.9 and on the front side, a 1.2-megapixel camera is placed. The internal storage included in the Sharp Aquos Xx is 32GB, and there’s an option to expand the storage using the MicroSD card.
The battery embedded has got a capacity of 2600 mAh, and the phone is expected to be available somewhere in December.
The Mini version of the Aquos Xx is coming with the 4.5-inch touchscreen with the internal specs being quite the same, as you get to see the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor along with the 2GB of RAM. The 4.5-inch screen has got a 1080p display, and in this, Sharp has used the IGZO LCD panel which takes the pixel density to 490 ppi. The battery life of the Aquos Xx Mini is 2120 mAh.
The rear camera included in this device is a 13-megapixel lens with the wide f/1.9 aperture, while the front camera is the same – 1.2-megapixel. Unlike the bigger version, this one might be available in February 2014, and the company hasn’t given any details about the pricing of both the devices.
