Sony had recently launched the Xperia C Android smartphone, a 5-inch device coming with the mid-range pricing but some appreciable features, which include the 5-inch QVGA display with the screen resolution 540 x 960 pixels, and the processor included in the device is Mediatek Quad-core processor clocking at 1.2 GHz, along with 1GB of RAM.
Check out the unboxing we did, in the video below:
The device is priced at around Rs. 21000 in the Indian market, and is now available in both the online and offline stores. You can watch the detailed hands-on the device and find what all comes packed in this unit in the following video.

Sony has been expanding the Xperia range of Android smartphones lately, and the wait for the Xperia Z1 or the Honami could still keep the eyes wide open in anticipation, but the company is keeping the users interested with the other devices being launched on the other side. This time, it is the Sony Xperia C being listed online on an Indian store Saholic, which was caught with a “coming soon” tag, and with all the details already out, the phone could be coming very soon.
It’s going to be a sturdy device, with the 5-inch touchscreen and a quad-core processor internally backed with 1 GB of RAM. We wouldn’t be expecting this device to come at any budget pricing, as the specs suggest this is going to be another alternative high-end devices from Sony.
But against what we said above, the device could be in a mid-range because Sony has made a change to the chipset, by opting to use a Mediatek processor over the Qualcomm processors they have been using on the other high-end devices. It’s going to come with the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, and this might be getting the updates to 4.2 soon.
The primary rear camera in the Xperia C is a 8 megapixel one with the LED flash, and it has the capability to capture videos at 1080p Full HD quality, with the video stabilization. Along with this, there’s a front VGA camera which helps in the video calling. One good thing noticeable in the specs list is the 2390 mAh battery, which is a capacity good enough to provide at least half a day of 2G calling.
All’s good in the device because all though there’s a Mediatek chipset, it’s no where a bad one, as the 1.2 GHz speed with 4 cores is quite fine, but we will have to find the pricing in which the device is coming, before any final word is said.
