Spice mobiles has come out with a teaser digital print campaign which says to “HOLD YOUR BREATH FOR SOMETHING AMAZING” on 15th of September. This is the date when Google is supposed to put curtains off from the Android One programme. An event is scheduled to happen on 15th September at 15:30 hrs and this smartphone will be available for purchase from flipkart. With the arrival of Android One programme, companies like Spice will be looking forward to add much needed strength in the sub $100. With companies like XiaoMi firing up this space of sub $100, it will be interesting to see on how Google answers with Spice and other key OEMs who are a part of Android One. Of late Spice Mobiles hasn’t launched many smartphones and also have been off the sight when it comes to advertising and branding. It will be no less than a task for Spice mobiles to get some attention from users.
For all those who wanted to know what exactly is Android One all about, Android one is a program which was announced by Google earlier in June at Google IO 2014 event under which few chosen OEMs will have to launch sub $100 devices of whose software stack will be controlled by Google. Unlike Karbonn who have partnered with Snapdeal, Spice has partnered with Flipkart to sell the smartphone exclusively and this new smartphone from Spice Mobiles will be available only on flipkart.
