The interesting Chinese smartphone maker, UMi is known for making value for money smartphones that come with decent specifications at affordable prices. Now, the company has officially announced yet another impressive smartphone called as UMi Touch. The smartphone comes with powerful specifications and sports an all-metal unibody design and looks similar to recently launched Meizu Metal. The UMi Touch priced at $179.99 will be available for pre-orders from Feb 18th and shipping starts on March 20th.
Talking about the specifications, the UMi Touch features a 5.5-inch (1080×1920 pixels) full-HD display with 2.5D arc glass and 400ppi as pixel density. Under the hood, it comes equipped with MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz paired with ARM Mali-T720 GPU and 3GB of RAM. It supports dual sim dual standby and runs on latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. The smartphone has 16GB of inbuilt storage and also includes a microSD card slot for further expansion upto 64GB.
On the camera front, the smartphone sports a 13MP autofocus rear camera with Sony IMX328 sensor and dual LED flash. On the front, it has a 5MP snapper with hynix HI553 sensor and LED flash to capture selfie images. It comes with standard connectivity options like 4G-LTE, GPS/A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi and microUSB 2.0 port with OTG support. The smartphone also includes a fingerprint sensor embedded directly into the physical home button for enhanced security.
The handset packs a 4000mAh battery that is rated to last for 15 days in standby mode. The dimensions of the smartphone measure 154.5 x 76 x 8.8 mm weighs around 190 grams and comes in Grey and Silver color options. The smartphone will be a good competitor for the likes of Redmi Note 3, Lenovo K5 Note and LeEco Le 1S that are available with similar specifications and price tag.
A quick recap, UMi is all set to launch its flagship smartphone the successor of UMi Zero called as UMi Zero 2 and will be priced at $299. The UMi Zero 2 will feature a 5.2-inch (2560×1440 pixels) 2K Super AMOLED display with pixel density of 564ppi and is expected to come powered by MediaTek Helio X20 deca-core processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. The UMi Zero 2 once unveiled will become one of the first smartphones to pack a deca-core processor. The smartphone is also expected to include dual rear-facing cameras among them one is for regular image capture, and the other will give DSLR-like effect.
