Procedure to Unlock Boot loader in International Version of Galaxy Nexus I9250:
- First up, you need to install the Samsung USB Drivers in your computer and then you need to follow the instructions so as to setup the ADB in your computer properly by following the instructions mentioned in the respective link.
- Once you are don setting up the device, download the fastboot.exe file from here and place the same in the SDK/Tools (or Platform-Tools) folder (its same as your adb.exe file). Now, assuming that you have enabled the USB Debugging in your phone, connect the device to the computer with the help of original USB cable.
- Now, press “Win+ R” in your windows based computer and enter “cmd” to press enter which will then pop out a command prompt window in your computer.

With the help of volume buttons, select the option of “YES” and press the power button to confirm the same. After entering the boot loader mode, if in the command you find an error of “waiting for device” then you will have to first go to the “Device Manager” > Right Click on “Android 1.0” > Update Driver > Browse My computer > Let Me pick from the list > select the newest Samsung driver available. Will I Still Get an Official Update after Unlocking Boot loader?
Yes, you will continue to receive the latest updates released by Google as you are not installing any custom ROM firmware or say beta firmwares by unlocking the boot loader.
