XXBMC9 Jellybean 4.1.2 for Galaxy Note 8.0 is finally out and can now be applied to the devices. This all new update fixes most of the bugs pertaining to the app crashes and heating issue which was complained by some users at the rear side below camera. Also, there are some minor UI tweaks which have been performed in this update. So, before we proceed to the detailed instructions on how you can apply this update, you need to follow the list of pre requisite instructions which we have mentioned below for safe upgrade process.
This all new update is being pushed in select countries, but till now if you haven’t got the update you can manually apply the update by following the below instructions.
Note: Applying with this firmware update won’t root the device or void the warranty in any manner.
Quick Pre Requisites:
- All the data in your GALAXY NOTE 8.0 should be backed up manually with the help of below mentioned instructions ONLY.
SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log – Call Log and Restore
Images, Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names”
- Enable the USB Debugging Mode in your computer from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”. Also, the minimum battery life should be a minimum of 40% or else there is a risk of device getting turned Off in the middle of firmware update.
- If you are already on the custom ROM firmware or say if you have rooted the device, then after applying with this update, the root access will be revoked.
