Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 LTE SC 01D users can now easily update their devices with the latest version of firmware dubbed as OMCL3 which is basically the Honeycomb 3.2 version of firmware. This update fixes almost all the basic features related to Wi Fi and Bluetooth tethering. In the due course of this article we will be checking out the same on how to apply this update with the help of a simple tutorial. Please note that this is not an official firmware released by Samsung Electronics or by Docomo and is the leaked firmware. As of now we don’t have any ETA on by when this update will be pushed via PC Suite or via OTA. Please note that this update should only be applied to the devices which are latched on to the docomo’s network and should have the model number as SC 01D. This update should not be applied to any other Galaxy Tab versions or else it will brick the device.

Express Pre Requisites:
- Minimum charge left in the phone should be 70% so as to ensure that the phone doesn’t get turned Off in the middle of firmware update. (If you don’t follow this step then the chances are more that your phone may get DEAD for which we should not be responsible).
- Disable all the security suites installed in your computer and uninstall all antivirus tools in your computer so as to ensure that the firmware update is not interrupted in the middle of the process.
- All the data like your SMS and Contacts should be backed up along with the APN Settings, as after applying the update all the data will be wiped off. If you have purchased any apps from the PLAY Store then these apps will stay in your account, all you need to do is to again download these apps from Play Store. Don’t worry, your purchased apps will be safe.
- Enable the USB Debugging in your Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 LTE SC 01D from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”. The USB Debugging option should be ticked as shown in the below screen capture.
Rooting Information: Applying this update doesn’t mean that you need to root the device before, also device will not get rooted after applying this update. Just in case if your device is rooted, after applying this update the rooting access will be revoked. We will soon come up with the rooting process at the earliest.

Tutorial to Update Galaxy Tab 10.1 LTE SC 01D with the new OMLC3 Firmware:
- Download the Firmware Package and Odin3 v1.3 from here to your computer and extract the same. Up next, after downloading the firmware package, you need to extract the same.
- Once extracted, open the Odin in your computer and turn Off your Galaxy Tab so as to enter the tab in the download mode.
- Press Volume Down button and then holding this rocker key, turn ON the tab by pressing the Power button after which the phone will be turning ON in the Download mode. Just in case if the phone gets turned ON in the normal mode, then you need to try entering the Download mode again.

- Once the tab gets turned ON, you need to select the option of “Downloading” as shown below and press the Power button to enter the same. As soon as the device is entered in the Download Mode, you will have to connect the tab with the computer using the Original USB cable.
- Now, in the Odin you will see that the ID : COM section will turn Yellow which indicates that all the drivers have been installed successfully and you are ready to select the file. Click on “PDA” and select “” file.
- After selecting, click on “Start” for starting the process of firmware update. As soon as the firmware is updated successfully, the tablet will be rebooted on its own.
- Once you see the home screen, you can disconnect the device from the computer. Just in case if you are facing any issues like the force close errors, then you need to reboot the device in the recovery mode.
- Press Volume Down button and then holding this rocker key, turn ON the tab by pressing the Power button after which the phone will be turning ON in the Recovery mode. You need to select the option.
- In recovery mode, select Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition and then reboot your device by selecting reboot system now with the help of Volume rocker keys. Once it’s done, you then will have to select the option of “reboot system now” for restarting the device.
Note: At any point of time just in case if the process of firmware update gets stopped due to any reason, all you need to do is restart the process from the start by re inserting the battery.
