Procedure to Update Nexus S 4G with Android 4.0.4 Firmware:
- Download IMM26 Firmware Zip & ICS Kernel 4.0.4 from here to your computer. After downloading, you need to connect your phone to the computer with the help of USB cable and then copy both these zip files in your phone. Ensure that you are not placing these two files deep into your phone.
- The recovery mode can be entered by pressing the Volume Up button and then power On the device to enter into the recovery mode. Just in case if the device boots up in the normal mode then you need to try the same again so that you enter into the recovery mode.
- In the recovery mode, select the option of “Wipe Data / factory Reset” and then choose “Wipe Cache” and also clear the “Dalvik Cache” so that all the cache files are cleared off. Please note that just in case if the device is loaded with any of the Voodoo tools then you need to disable them as these interrupt the process.
- After this, select the option of “Install Zip from SD Card”, “Choose Zip from SD Card” and then select the file which is named as “Unofficial-IMM26-deodexed-interactive”. As soon as the file is selected, you will see that the updation process will be started. It will take around 5 minutes for applying this update completely.
- Once the phone is updated successfully, you then again select “Install Zip from SD Card”, “Choose Zip from SD Card” and then select the file which is named as “IMM26.7z”.
- Once the file is updated successfully, you need to choose “ ++++ Go Back ++++ ” to get back to the main menu and then choose to “reboot system now” to restart the phone.
Tip: Just in case of the interruption due to any reason, then you need to re insert the battery and need to re follow the above procedure from the start.
