Procedure to update Nexus S 4G with Gingerbread 2.3.7:
- After following all the instructions which are mentioned in the last page in the form of Pre Requisites, you are all set to proceed. First up you need to download the Gingerbread 2.3.7 Zip package from here to your computer / laptop.
- Once you finish downloading the same to your computer you will now have to connect your nexus S 4G phone to the computer with the help of the USB cable preferably which is supplied with the device at the time of purchase.
- Now, you need to copy the downloaded zip file as it is to your phone. Ensure that you are not placing this file deep inside any folders. Once you place the file in your phone, remove the USB cable, ensure that the USB debugging is turned ON and after that simply turn off the device.
- Now, as soon as the Nexus S 4G is completely turned Off you will now have to Press the Volume Up Key and then Power On the phone simultaneously. After which you will see the three options which are “Bootloader”, “Recovery” and ”Power off” among which you will now have to choose the “Recovery Mode” and press the Power button to confirm the same.
- Now, in the recovery screen press the Volume Up button along with the Power button simultaneously to get the list of options in the recovery mode.
- In recovery mode, you will have to now choose the option “install zip from SD card” and then “choose zip from sdcard” after which it will show all the zip files which are present in your phone along with other files. But from the list of files, you need to select the file which is named as “2.3.7update.zip”.
- Once the zip file is selected then it will take round about less than 5 minutes to apply this update zip file in the phone. Ensure that in the process of applying the update it’s not interrupted. Once the update is applied successfully you will now have to select the option of “reboot system now” after which the device will be rebooting.
