Procedure to Update Cyanogen mod 9 in HTC One X:
- First up you need to ensure that you have your HTC One X is rooted device and is installed with the custom recovery. After this, download the Cyanogen Mod 9 Update package (Mirror Link) from here to your computer.
- Connect your phone to the computer with the help of Original USB cable and place the downloaded Zip file in your device’s SD Card. Ensure that you are not placing the file deep into the folders or else it will not be detected in the recovery mode.
- Now, disconnect the phone and turn Off the device so that it can be entered in the recovery mode via boot loader mode.
- The Boot loader mode in HTC One X can be entered by pressing Volume UP Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. If the phone boots in the normal mode then you need to try again to enter into the recovery mode.
- In the boot loader mode, you need to select “recovery” so as to enter into the recovery mode. Now, in the recovery mode, you need to select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from sd card” and then choose the Cyanogen mod 9 update package which you have placed in the device.
- After selecting the package it takes around 5 minutes to apply the zip file in One X. Once the firmware is applied successfully, the device will land up in the recovery mode. Now, in the recovery mode screen, select“++++ Go Back ++++” > “reboot system now” to reboot the phone. Please note that it will take more than normal time as it will be finalizing the installation.
Note: At any point of time just in case if the process of firmware update gets stopped due to any reason, all you need to do is restart the process from the start by re inserting the battery.
