Pre Requisites:
- So, just before you proceed to update your phone it’s highly recommended to create a backup of all your crucial data which includes SMS, Contacts, Photos, Songs, APN Settings, MMS Settings and also the videos. You can move all your photos, videos and songs to your SD Card and the same can be removed from your phone till the firmware is upgraded.
Procedure to Backup and Restore SMS,
- The MMS Settings as well as the APN Settings which are responsible for the internet access, you will have to note these settings, the MMS Settings as well as the APN Settings are located in the path in your phone. The APN Settings are located in this path, Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names. This includes all the settings which are MMS, WAP / GPRS / 3G Settings.
- Ensure that you have the minimum battery backup of at least 95% plus so as to avoid from experiencing lesser battery backup. If you proceed foreseeing the minimum battery requirement which is specified above, you may experience lesser battery backup after the update.
- (Optional) Last but not the least, a minimum configuration of Win XP or Win 7 is required along with the minimum capability of USB 2.0 will be required. In addition to this, you also need to ensure that the latest version of HTC Suite has been installed on your computer and also note that till the firmware upgrade process is done, you need to turn Off the Antivirus Solution which is present in your computer.
