Procedure to update HTC Droid Incredible with Gingerbread 2.3:
- So, before you proceed for actual go on the updation part, you first need to download the Update Zip file from here which we will be seeing on how you can use the same to update the device.
- Once you download this update.zip file in your computer, you will have to connect your phone with the computer with the USB cable and then you need to copy the same in your phone. Please note that you are requested not to change / rename the file which you have downloaded and most importantly don’t even unzip the same.
- Ensure that the file name of the zip file reads “PB31IMG.zip” and place the same in your phone and not into any of the sub folders so that you can easily find this file for updating the same.
- Now, after this you will have to enter your phone in the bootloader mode. To enter the bootloader mode, you will first need to turn Off the phone and then you need to “Press the Volume down key and then press the Power ON button” after this with the help of the Volume keys, go up or down and choose the option of “fastboot reboot” and then this will boot into the recovery option.
- Now, after this, head over to the recovery and then press the power button to select the recovery and then you will see that your device will be showing the exclamation mark after which you need to choose the zip file which you placed the same in the above step.
- As soon as you choose this update, the updation process will be initiated and the same will be finished within a time of 10 -12 minutes of maximum time. Please note that in the process of this update you may even face issues like screen flicker or even the restarting of the phone, so ensure that you don’t interrupt the process of the update.
