Procedure to Update Droid Incredible with ICS Android 4.0.3 Firmware:
- Download ICS Android 4.0.3 AOKP Build from here to your computer along with the Google Apps Package.
- Enable the USB Debugging from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging” after which turn off your phone so as to enter the phone in the recovery mode.
Connect your Droid Incredible phone with the computer using the original USB cable and copy the ICS Zip package which you downloaded in your computer along with the Google Apps Zip file to your phone’s SD Card.- Now, you will need to disconnect the connected phone and turn off the phone so that the phone can be entered in the recovery mode.
- The Boot loader mode in Droid Incredible can be entered by pressing Volume UP Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. Please note that just in case if the device boots up in the normal mode, you need to again try entering into the boot loader mode.
- After entering into the boot loader mode, you need to select the option “Recovery” to enter the device in the recovery mode. Now, in the recovery mode, you need to select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from sd card” and then choose the ICS Android 4.0.3 Firmware Zip file which you have placed in your phone followed by which you need to select the Zip file of Google Apps which you have placed.
- As soon as the firmware is updated successfully, the phone will either restart automatically or will land up in the recovery mode screen. If the device is entered in the recovery mode screen then you need to select the option of “++++ Go Back ++++” and select the option of “reboot system now” for rebooting the device in the ICS Android 4.0.3 AOKP Build firmware.
Note: Just in case if the device takes more than 10 minutes of time to reboot the system then you will have to re insert the battery so as to reboot the phone again. If in an unfortunate event if the device gets hung at any point of time then you will have to re apply the firmware by following the instructions from the start.
To check whether the firmware has been successfully updated or not, you can check the same from the path Settings > About Phone > Firmware Version where you will see that the firmware version as 4.0.3
