List of Pre Requisites:
- First and the foremost thing you need to do is to take a backup of all the data which is there in your HTC Evo 3D phone as in the due course of this update the data will be lost. Either you move all the data to the internal / external SD card or you can make use of tips which are mentioned below to backup and restore the data as soon as you finish updating the phone.
SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names”
- Now, next thing which you need to take care is the battery, ensure that the battery is charged to the maximum level, preferably more than 80% will be better.
- Please note that the below mentioned procedure is only meant for the HTC Evo 3D phones and not for any other phones, so just in case if you still proceed with the update then this may cause serious damage to the device.
- Since the phone will be connected to the computer or Laptop in the process of firmware update, you will have to note that the System has a minimum of Windows XP / Windows Vista or even Windows 7 along with the minimum USB 2.0 capable USB ports. Also additionally ensure that all the Antivirus suites, Firewall solutions as well as the PC Suites are completely closed as these softwares tend to block the firmware updates from unknown sources.
- Since HTC Phones come with the boot loaders loaded in it, we need to first ensure that the S-Off is turned Off completely and then followed by the installation of the custom recovery image so that the zip files can be flashed in the device. So, in the next page let’s check out the same on how you can not only turn off the S and also on installation of the custom recovery image. But before that note that performing the S – Off will lead to the voiding of warranty.
