Procedure to turn S-Off and Installation of Custom Recovery:
- Firstly, you need to download and install the HTC Sync DRIVERS in your computer. Please note that these divers are not supporting the Apple MAC based computers.
- Now, as soon as the drivers are installed successfully you will then have to proceed to disable the fast boot on your HTC Incredible S. One can disable the same from the path, “Settings > Power > Fast boot”.
- Up next is you also will have to ensure that the USB Debugging is enabled in the device which can be done from the path, “Settings > Applications > Development > USB Debugging”.
- No, just visit the HTC Beta Key Website where you will be finding an option called “Download for Windows”, just click on the same after which the Revolutionary file will be downloaded in your PC and also if you further scroll down a bit, you will then see a section which is called as the “Beta Key”. Just simply fill in the details like the computer’s operating system, your device name, HBOOT Version and also the serial number of the phone. Enter all the details as asked and after that click on the “Generate Key” as shown in below screen capture.
- Now, you will get the beta key after which you just will have to connect your HTC Evo 3D Phone to your computer / laptop with the help of the USB Cable which you got at the time of purchase.
- Now, just open the revolutionary beta application in your computer which you have downloaded from the above mentioned site and then you will have to enter the correct beta key which you have got in the above step.
- Now, the HTC Evo 3D Phone will be temporarily rooted and after which you will gain the S –Off and then the custom recovery image will be installed after which the phone will be restarted. Just in case if the device takes more than 10 -14 minutes then you will have to manually restart the device. If the S – Off is not done manually then you need to do the same manually.
- Once the above step is completed and you gained the S Off status, you will now have to proceed with the next step for installing the Cyanogen Mod ROM on your phone.
