Procedure to Update HTC Vivid with ICS Android 4.0.3 Firmware:
- Download HTC Vivid ICS Android 4.0 Package from here to your computer. After this, all you need to do is to connect the device to the computer using the original USB cable.
- Place the downloaded file in the device’s SD Card, not deep into any of the sub folders or else it will not be detecting the file. Now, you need to turn Off the device so as to enter your device in the recovery mode. Press the Volume Down button and press Power button to start the phone. Now, once the phone gets ON, select “Boot loader” by pressing the Power button.
- Now, in the recovery mode you will have to back up the existing Working ROM and select Backup and Restore to select Backup. In recovery mode select “Wipe data/factory reset” & “Wipe Cache partition” so that this will clear the cache. Select “install zip from SD card” > “choose zip from sd card” after which you need to select the placed that is “ICS Android 4.0 Package for HTC Vivid”.
- Once the file is selected, the device will start processing the update and once it’s done, the device will either restart or will land up in the recovery mode screen. If the device lands up in the recovery mode screen, you need to select “++++ Go Back ++++” and select “reboot system now” for rebooting the phone manually.
- To ensure that the firmware is applied successfully, you need to check the same from the path “Settings > About Phone > Firmware Version” where you will find the version of ICS Android 4.0.3 firmware.
