Tutorial to Update HTC Vivid with ICS RUU Android 4.0.3 Firmware:
- Download the ICS RUU Android 4.0.3 Package from here to your computer and once you download it, you need to next up download the OTA Root keeper application from here to your computer.
- Now, open the RUU Zip Executable file in your computer and turn Off your phone so that it can then be entered in the Bootloader mode by pressing the Volume Down button + Power button and then connect the phone to the computer with the help of USB cable with the help of USB cable and open the RUU .exe file on your PC.
- Now, it will take around 10 minutes for applying the update and once the update is applied successfully you will now have to download the OTA RootKeeper app and then launch the same to select “Restore Root” option which will restore the root access.
- Now, next up you need to download the superuser application from the GOOGLE Play Store and then open the same to update the su binary data,
Tip: Due to some reasons if the update process gets failed or interrupted, then you need to apply the update again by following the steps again from the start. Don’t forget to restore the backup which you have taken in the initial steps.
