Procedure to update Gingerbread 2.3.2 on Huawei Ascend:
- Before we proceed to the procedure, you will have to first ensure that you put the adrenalin.zip file to the root of your phone which you can do by simply transferring file from the computer to the phone via USB cable as it is without any modifications in file or even in the name of the file with the extensions.
- Now, next up you will have to root the Huawei Ascend Phone with the help of the Z4 Root method. First, you need to download Z4root application and need to enable USB debugging in your phone by pressing Menu, then you need to tap on Settings, then Applications, Development and need to check on option USB debugging.
- Now, after changing to USB Debugging, launch Z4Root from Applications and just tap on Root button.
- As soon as you tap on Root, the device will restart. Now Run z4root by going into Applications to check if the rooting process was successful or not. If rooting was a success, then you’ll see a new Superuser app in your app drawer/tray and if the rooting is not successful all you will have to do is to just repeat the above procedure. You again have to restart the device so that the device is completely rooted. Once the device is restarted, your phone has been successfully rooted.
- Now, once the device has been rooted you now will have to proceed and need to download the ROM Manager application from an all new Android Market Place
- Now, once the ROM Manager is installed successfully in your phone, you now need to open the ROM Manager and need to install the CWM Recovery which can be done by just tapping on the option of “Flash Clock Work Mod Recovery”. After this selection, you will be prompted to select the phone model wherein you need to find and tap on the “Huawei Ascend” phone after which the CWM will be installed in your phone. Please note that in this process your phone may reboot once.
- Just in case if you wish to have a backup of your existing firmware ROM then all you need to do is to just tap on the option of Back up Existing ROM after which the current ROM will be backed up.
- Now, once its finished installing the CWM and the ROM is backed up you will now have to proceed to the option of “install ROM from SD Card”. As soon as you select this option, you will now have to choose the file which is nothing but the file which is the Adrenaline.zip which you have placed in the phone.
- Now, once the ROM is installed fully, you will now have to proceed to choose the option of “Fix Permissions” after which the device gets rebooted and then you will see that the device is rebooted in the recovery mode. If it goes into the recovery mode then you will have to choose the option of Wipe and Clear cache after which select the option of “Reboot the device”.
That’s it as soon as you reboot the device, you will see that the device is loaded with the Gingerbread 2.3.2 version.
