Procedure to Update Motorola Atrix 4G with Cyanogen Mod 9 Custom ROM Firmware:
- Download the CM 9.0 Custom ROM Package as well as the Google Apps Zip file from here to your computer. As soon as you download, you now need to connect your Motorola Atrix 4G device with your computer and as soon as you copy both of these zip files, you now need to disconnect the phone connected with computer.
- Now, enable the USB Debugging Mode in your phone from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”.
- Turn Off your phone so as to enter the device in the recovery mode. The recovery mode can be entered by pressing the Volume Up button and then press the Power button till the device gets into the fastboot mode.
- As soon as the device gets in the fast boot mode, you now need to press the volume down key to select “Android Recovery” to enter the device in the recovery mode.
- In recovery mode, choose the option of “Install ROM from SD Card” after which you will see many options in the list from where you will have to then select the zip file of cyanogen Mod 9 and then followed by which select the Google apps. As soon as you select the file you will now need to wait till the firmware is updated.
- So once the firmware update is done, all you need to do is to just select the option of +++++Go Back++++ and then select “Reboot System Now” to restart the phone and that’s it you have now successfully updated the Motorola Atrix 4G device to the latest version of Gingerbread Cyanogen mod 9 release.
