- The first point to consider is storing your data on the phone. The data on the phone will be erased after the firmware update, so to avoid the data lose on your phone, you need to store and back up your data using the box below.

Store and Back up all your music files, pictures, videos on external SD Card.
- Now, note down your APN & MMS settings of your phone as you can’t access the internet and MMS services after the firmware update until you reconfigure them. So, make a note of APN & MMS Settings using this path: “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names”.
- The phone’s battery should have a charging of more than 90 %, so that the phone will have a battery backup even after the updation process.
- Users need to have a minimum of Windows Vista/7/XP on your PC or Laptop along with the USB 2.0 ports support and ADMIN privileges. Update your KIES to latest KIES 2.0 version.
