Procedure to update Ginger Real Custom ROM on Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830:
- Before proceeding you will have to first ensure that you are onKPH/KPN Gingerbread 2.3 firmware which is a must. The Android version from your Galaxy Ace S5830 can be checked from the path of Settings > About Phone > Firmware Version where you will find the current version of Android OS where it has to show KPH / KPN version of firmware. If it shows any other version apart from this, then do let us know in the comments section so that we will find a corresponding firmware article for your which is mentioned in the above links.
- Now, next up you will have to do is to install the Clock Work Mod Recovery in your phone which you can do by following the below mentioned instructions.
Procedure to install Clock Work Mod Recovery:
- First up you will have to download the Clockwork Package wherein it contains the OPS file, Odin flash tool as well as the tar file which we will see on how you can use the same. Please note that as soon as you download the same, you will be prompted to enter the password, enter the password as “androidadvices.com”. Once the password is entered, the files will be extracted.
- Now, after this open the Odin flash tool in your computer and then you will have to turn Off the phone so that now you can enter into the download mode. The download mode can be entered by pressing down on Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. Additionally, you can also refer to the below video on how you can enter into the download mode.
- Now after this, while keeping Odin opened you will now have to connect the phone with the Odin using the USB cable, as soon as you connect the phone to the Odin, you will then see that all the drivers will be installed and after that the ID : COM block will turn yellow which means that you can now successfully proceed to choose the files in the Odin.
- In Odin, you will now have to click on the corresponding options to choose the file which are mentioned below. Please note that you will have to select the “One Package” option as shown in the below screen capture.
Tip: Try to match the selections with the ABOVE screen capture.
So, as soon as you have made the selections as per the above screen capture, you now need to click on the “Start” to proceed with the flashing process. So, as soon as the process of updation gets done, you will now have to proceed with the next step to apply the custom ROM.
Procedure to apply Ginger REAL Custom ROM:
- So, before proceeding you will have to download the Ginger Real for Galaxy Ace Firmware Zip file in your computer. After downloading it you will now have to proceed to connect your phone with the computer using the USB cable which you got at the time of purchase.
- Now, place this downloaded zip file as it is in your phone, ensure that you haven’t placed this zip file deep into the folders. So, as soon as you place it you will now have to turn Off the phone so that you can then enter into the recovery mode.
- The recovery mode can be entered by pressing Volume UP on Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. You can refer the below mentioned video on how you can enter into the recovery mode. In the recovery mode, you will have to choose “install zip from sd card” and after that you will have to select another option “choose zip from sd”. Once you do this, you will get a list of Zip files which are present in your phone.
- From a list of zip files, you will need to select the zip file which you placed in the device which is named as “SamsungGALAXY_ACE_GingerRealv1.3.zip”, as soon as you choose this file, the firmware updation process will be started and then you will see that the device will now take a maximum of 5 – 10 minutes for applying this update. So, once the update is done successfully, the device will be rebooting and just in case if the device doesn’t reboot automatically then select “go back” and choose the option of “reboot system now” to manually reboot the phone.
- Once you are done with the firmware update, you will now have to get into the recovery mode to clear all the cache in your phone. The recovery mode can be entered by pressing Volume UP on Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. In the recovery mode, you will have to select Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition and then reboot your device by selecting reboot system now option. Please note that you will have to ensure that you don’t select any other options or else there is a high probability that you may end up bricking up the phone.
Procedure to get Additional Android Applications and Apps 2 SD Feature on your Galaxy Ace:
- To get this feature of Apps to SD, you will have to first download these two zip file applications which are “App 2 SD” and “Bonus Android Apps” in your computer. Now, with the help of USB cable connect the Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 to the computer / laptop and place these two downloaded zip files in your phone.
- Now, remove the USB cable connected with the Computer and then you will need to turn Off the phone so that after that you will have to enter into the recovery mode.
- In recovery mode select the option of “install zip from sd card” and after that you will have to select another option “choose zip from sd” and then choose the two zip files which you have placed one after the other.
- That’s it, now you will need to select the option of “go back” and then choose the option of “reboot system now” to reboot the phone and then enjoy the apps 2 SD feature with which you can move all your applications to the SD card and also you will get the additional Android Applications as a bonus.
