Procedure to update Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 with Gingerbread DDKQ6 2.3.4:
- After downloading the Gingerbread 2.3.4 DDKQ6 package in your computer you will then have to unzip the same. Please note that in the process of the unzipping it will prompt you to enter in the password. Enter the password as “androidadvices.com” without the inverted comas.
- Now, up next after the files get extracted you will now have to proceed to check with the below mentioned extracted files. All files which you have extracted should match with the ones which are downloaded, just in case if the files don’t match then you again will have to download the zip file and then unzip the same.
- Now, from the unzipped folder you will have to open the Odin Multi downloader executable file and then turn Off the phone. As soon as you turn Off the phone you now will have to enter into the download mode. The download mode can be entered by pressing down on Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button . Just in case if the device boots in the normal mode then you will have to again try the process of entering into the download mode. Please note that it’s not recommended to proceed if you are not entering into the download mode. One can also refer the below video to enter into the download mode.
- As soon as you get into the download mode, you will now need to connect the phone with the USB cable which you got at the time of purchasing the phone. Now, upon successfully connecting the phone with the computer, after 1 – 2 minutes you will see that the ID: COM section will turn yellow which will mean that all the drivers which are required for the firmware update has been successfully updated and you are now ready to proceed to the firmware update.
- Now, you are ready to proceed to the next step where in you will have to choose the files in the Odin. In Odin you need to select the respective files from the below mentioned list. You can select files by clicking and selecting the files on the respective option.

- Once the files are selected in the Odin, you now need to proceed by clicking on the “Start” to start with the process of the firmware update. Please note that it’s highly not recommended to interrupt the process of the firmware update or else you will end up bricking up the phone.
- So, as soon as the firmware update is successful you will now need to proceed to turn off the phone so that you can then enter into the recovery mode. But before you turn Off you will have to ensure that you turn Off the device only after you see the home screen.
- You can enter into the recovery mode by pressing up on Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. Once you enter into the recovery mode, choose the options Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition and then reboot your device by selecting reboot system now option.
Advisory: Please note that as soon as the phone is updated, you will now need to re configure the APN Settings as well as the MMS Settings in your phone so as to access the internet and send the MMS Messages. You can configure the APN Settings from the path Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names after which press the “Menu” key to configure the “New APN” and also need to configure the “MMS Settings”.
