How To Update Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 to XWKPT Gingerbread 2.3.4 Firmware

Procedure to apply Gingerbread 2.3.4 XWKPT on Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830:

  • Download the Gingerbread XWKPT 2.3.4 Zip file from here to your computer or laptop. Once you download the same, you need to unzip the same and in the process of unzipping it will prompt you to enter the password. The password which you need to enter is “androidadvices.com” without the inverted comas. After extracting these files, you will also have to download and unzip the OPS File.
  • Now, after unzipping the files you will have to ensure that all the files are there as shown in the below screen shot. Once all the files are matched you can then proceed with the next up, just in case if any of the file is missing then you will need to download the files again from the above mentioned link.

  • Now, open the “Odin” executable file from the unzipped folder and then turn Off the phone so that you can then enter into the download mode. The download mode can be entered by pressing  down on Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. You can also refer to the video below to know more on how you can enter into the download mode for more convenience.

  • Now, once you get into the download mode you will then have to then connect your phone with the computer while the Odin is opened in your computer. Once the Odin is opened in your computer you will then have to wait till the drivers are installed in the computer.
  • Once all then drivers are successfully installed, you will see that the ID : COM block in the Odin will turn yellow which will confirm the same. Now all you need to do is to click on the the corresponding tabs and then choose the files as mentioned below.

OPS – Cooper_v1.0.ops,

Boot – APBOOT_S5830XWKPT_CL469288_REV03_user_low_true.tar.md5,

Phone – MODEM_S5830XWKP7_CL407346_REV03.tar.md5

PDA –  CODE_S5830XWKPT_CL469288_REV03_user_low_true.tar.md5

CSC – GT-S5830-csc-XEOKP2.tar.md5

Ensure that the “Re – Partition” option is not checked and is un ticked.

  • Now, once you select all the files as per the above mentioned order, you will now have to double check the same as selecting wrong files will lead to the bricking of the phone. Once you have ensured that all the files are correct you will now have to click on the “Start” tab to start the process of firmware update.
  • As soon as you click on the “Start”, you will now have to wait for the process to get completed and in this process it’s highly recommended to not to interrupt the process of firmware update or else there is a high probability that you may end up bricking up the phone. Just in case if it gets interrupted due to unavoidable situations like Power cut etc., you will then have to repeat the whole procedure again.

Note : If even after 10 -15 minutes the process doesn’t end and gets stuck then you need to ensure that you have the admin privileges in your computer.

  • Now, upon successful application of the update, the phone will be re started and you will be then prompted to select the language settings along with the Google Account credentials so that you can then access the Gmail as well as other Google products like Android Market Place etc.
  • Now, once you see the home screen you will now have to turn Off the phone so that you can then enter into the recovery mode. The recovery mode can be entered by pressing  Volume UP on Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. You can refer the below mentioned video on how you can enter into the recovery mode.

  • Once you get into the recovery mode, you will have to select Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition and then reboot your device by selecting reboot system now option. Please note that you will have to ensure that you don’t select any other options or else there is a high probability that you may end up messing up the phone or even may end up losing the data which is there in your phone.

Now, that’s it you have now successfully updated the Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 with the latest version of firmware XWKPT 2.3.4 Gingerbread version.
