Steps to update your Samsung Galaxy Gio to LVHKP7 2.3.4 Gingerbread Firmware:
- Initially, download Samsung Galaxy Gio LVHKP7 package and save it on your computer (or Laptop) desktop. Once the file has downloaded, extract the files at the same location and in the extraction procedure you need to enter the password. So enter ‘androidadvices.com’ as a password and click ‘Ok’ to extract the files safely.
- Check all the extracted files and compare them with the screenshot below. The extracted files should contain all the files as shown. If you found any of the file missing from the below list then download the zip file again.
- Now open the Odin tool from the extracted files and run it on your computer. Turn OFF your phone now and keep Odin tool ready for the usage.
- Turn ON your phone again now and enter into the downloading mode. To enter into the downloading mode, just press volume DOWN key and OK button along with the Power button simultaneously. Refer to below video to know how to turn ON your phone in the downloading mode.

- Your phone will be in downloading mode now, so connect your phone to the PC (or Laptop) using the USB cable. Once the connection is established successfully, the COM Port Mapping block will turn into yellow indicating that all the necessary drivers have been installed in the computer successfully. Turn OFF all the antivirus solutions and the firewalls and make sure that KIES is in OFF state.
- In the Odin tool, you will find various options so click on the option ‘OPS’ and select the ops file and also choose the one package file under ‘One package’ option as given in the screenshot below.

- After selecting the files as shown above, click on the ‘Start’ button in Odin tool to initiate the updating process. This firmware updation process will take few minutes, so don’t interrupt the process in the middle. In case of any interruption, follow the whole procedure again from the beginning.Once the firmware updation process is completed then your phone restarts automatically and that indicates that the process of firmware updation has completed successfully. So, now turn OFF your mobile and ON it back again to enter into the recovery mode. To enter into the recovery mode, press volume UP key and OK button along with the Power button simultaneously. In recovery mode , you will see various options so choose the options like wipe data/factory reset and Wipe Cache partition. The touch interface will not work in the recovery mode so use volume UP and DOWN keys to scroll up and down. In the process of firmware update, some of the cache files will generates in your phone in order to damage some applications of your phone. So, to avoid any such damage on your phone we need to clean up all the cache files from the phone. Refer to the above video tutorial to get a better idea on cleaning of cache files. After clearing all the cache files form the phone, just reboot it using the option ‘reboot system now’, and enter the language preferences and the Google account preferences again so that you can bring back your phone into the normal mode.
