Pre Upgrade Instructions:
Before flashing your phone with SPEEDROM you need to follow a set of important instructions if you fail to do so you may end up with a bricked phone.Kindly follow the instructions mentioned in link below and ensure proper functionality of your phone.
Pre Requisites of Firmware Upgrade
- Now, once you are done with that you will have to enable the USB debugging from the path of “Settings > Applications > Development > USB Debugging”
Procedure to update Samsung Galaxy S GT I9000 with SPEEDROM :
- Before proceeding you will have to download the Speed MOD ROM from here to your computer and then with the help of the USB cable you need to connect the phone to the computer and then copy this downloaded zip file into your phone as it is. Once you place this file in your Internal SD card and remove the USB cable. Now restart your phone in Recovery Mode but before that you need to remove the USB cable which you have connected.
- Ensure that you have moved the downloaded file as it is to your phone without renaming or modifying the files or else you will face issues of non compatibility and also ensure that you are not placing the file deep into the sub folders or else it will not be detecting the file which is placed in the phone.
- The recovery mode can be entered by pressing Volume UP on Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. In the recovery mode, select Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition and then reboot your device by selecting reboot system now option. If the device boots in the normal mode then again you need to try to get into the recovery mode. You can refer to the video below to know more on how to enter into the recovery mode.
- As soon as you enter into recovery mode select “install zip from SD card” and then press power button. Now select “choose zip from sd card” this will display various zip files in your root folder along with other files and folders. Now from the list select “SPEEDROM zip”.
- Now select zip file your phone will start installing SPEEDROM. It will take around 6-8 minutes to flash your phone with SPEEDROM. After successfully installing SPEED ROM don’t wipe cache partition or else you may end up losing the add on application which are bundled with this ROM.
- You will then see that once the update process is done you will be again landed back to the recovery screen where you need to choose the option of “++++ Go Back ++++” to get back to the main menu and then choose to “reboot system now” to restart the phone.
