Procedure to apply XWKJ3 Gingerbread 2.3.5 Update in Samsung Galaxy S2 GT I9100:
- Assuming that from the Pre Requisites section you have downloaded the firmware zip package, you need to now proceed to extract he same in a folder. In the process of extraction, you will be prompted to enter the password, enter the password as “androidadvices.com” without inverted comas as shown in the below screen capture.
- After this once the files are extracted, match the extracted files with the below mentioned screen capture so as to ensure that all the files are extracted successfully. Just in case if any of the files are missing then that means either the extraction was not done properly or the download didn’t happen properly.
- Open the Odin flash tool from the extracted files in your computer after which you need to turn Off the phone so as to enter into the download mode. The download mode can be entered by pressing Volume down Key, Center button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. Refer below Video for more.

- Once you enter download mode, connect the phone with the computer using the USB Cable which you got at the time of purchase.
- Once you connect he phone, you will see that in Odin, the ID : COM section in the Odin will turn yellow which will mean that all the drivers have been successfully updated and you are now ready to proceed for selection for files.
- After this you need to click on “PDA” tab in Odin and select the file which is named as “” after which you need to click on the “Start” tab to start the process of firmware update.
Please note that you are matching all the options in Odin as mentioned in the above screen capture.
- Now, click on the “Start” tab to start the process of firmware update and then you will have to wait for the firmware update process to be finished.
- Once the firmware is updated successfully, the phone will be restarted automatically and then you will have to check the current firmware version. To check whether the firmware has been successfully applied or not, you need to go to the path “Applications > Settings > About Phone” where you will find the firmware version as XWKJ3 2.3.5 Gingerbread version.

After this turn off the phone so that you can then clear all the cache from recovery mode so as to avoid the frequent force close errors. You can enter recovery mode by holding the Volume UP key and then press the Power ON button simultaneously. In the recovery mode screen, you need to select “Wipe Data / factory reset” and “Wipe Cache Partition” which will clear off all the data which is stored in the phone.
