Procedure to apply Gingerbread JPKP5 2.3.4 on your Samsung Galaxy SL I9003:
- So before you proceed, download the Gingerbread JPKP5 2.3.4 Zip file in your computer / Laptop and after which you will have to unzip the same in your computer / Laptop. Before you unzip, you need to ensure that if it prompts you for the password then enter the password as “androidadvices.com” without the inverted comas.
- It is preferred to extract the files to the desktop so that the same can be located easily, once the files are successfully extracted you will now have to match all the files as per the below image, just in case if any of the file(s) are missing then you will have to download the zip file again as the files are not properly downloaded.
- Up next is you will now have to turn Off the phone and need to open the Odin.exe file from the extracted files which you just did in the last step. Now, you need to enter the phone in the download mode. The download mode can be entered by pressing down on Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. Alternatively, you can also refer to the video below to know more on how you can enter into the download mode.
- As soon as you enter into the download mode, you will now have to get into the download mode, with the help of the USB cable you will have to connect the phone with the computer using the USB cable which you have got at the time of purchase.
- After connecting the phone to the computer, you will see that the ID : COM block will be turning yellow which means that all the required drivers have been successfully installed in the computer and you are now all set to proceed for the update. Please note that to turn that ID : COM block, it may take sometimes to turn as it takes 3 – 4 minutes to install all the required drivers.
- Now, upon connecting the phone you will now have to feed the below mentioned files as it is by clicking and selecting the corresponding files from appropriate options mentioned below.
PIT – s1_odin_20100512.pit
Bootloader – APBOOT_I9003JPKP5_CL482273_REV08_user_low_ship.tar
PDA – CODE_I9003JPKP5_CL482273_REV08_user_low_ship.tar
Phone – MODEM_I9003JXKP3_REV_00_CL1040711.tar
CSC – I9003OJPKP6_CL491426_CSC.tar
- Now, as soon as all the files are selected, check with all of them and upon checking successfully, proceed by clicking on the “Start”. As soon as you click on the Start the firmware update process will be started and you will see that the progress will be shown in the Odin screen as mentioned below.
- After 5 – 10 minutes the device will be updated and the same will be rebooting. Please note that at this point of time it’s highly recommended to not to interrupt the process of firmware update, if you do so then there is a high probability that you may end up bricking up the phone.
- Please note that if the progress bar stays stagnant for more than 5 minutes then pull off the phone, remove the battery, re insert the same and follow the process from the start.
- So, once the phone is successfully updated, you will now have to choose the Language from the Language Preferences and after that you will need to enter your Google Account Credentials to get access to the Google powered Applications.
- So, once you see the home screen you will now have to turn Off the phone so that you can then enter into the recovery mode. The recovery mode can be entered by pressing Volume UP on Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. Please note that just in case if the phone boots normally then you will have to again repeat the button combination which is mentioned above to enter the recovery mode.
After entering the recovery mode, you will have to choose the options Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition and then reboot your device by selecting reboot system now option. Please note that you will have to ensure that you don’t select any other options or else there is a high probability that you may end up bricking up the phone. Please note that its utmost important to follow this step or else you will have to face force close errors.
