Procedure to Update Xperia PLAY with 4.0.2.E.0.57 Gingerbread 2.3.4:
- As of now there is no way that you can manually apply the update of 4.0.2.E.0.57 via the ftf file and the flash tool but as in when it comes, we will surely update this space. So, we will check out now on how you can get this update via the OTA update manner.
- Head over to the path Menu Key > tap Settings > Software Update > Update Now >Check for Updates after which you will get to see the update notification in your device. Ensure that you have an active data connection, that is active EDGE / 3G/ Wi Fi connectivity. Data charges may apply.
- Now as soon as the download file is downloaded completely in your phone, you will get a prompt as shown below. Tap on the “Apply Update” option as shown in the below screen capture. Up next the device will power off and back on four times before displaying the Install Complete Screen. This is the confirmation that your install was successful, tap OK.
Note: At any point of time just in case if the process of firmware update gets stopped due to any reason, all you need to do is restart the process from the start.
