Procedure to update Cyanogen mod 7.1 Custom ROM Firmware on Toshiba Folio 100:
- Assuming that you have followed the list of instructions which are mentioned above, you will now need to proceed to downloading the Cyanogen Mod 2.3.7 for Toshiba Folio 100 device in your computer.
- After this you need to go to visit the Android Apps Labs to download and install the ROM Manager application in your device.
- Now, as soon as you download the same you will then need to connect he device with the computer using the USB cable which you got at the time of purchase. As soon as you connect the device, you will then need to copy the downloaded Cyanogen mod Zip file as it is without modifying / renaming to the device.
- Now, go to the list of applications which are there in your device and select the option of “ROM Manager” application to open the same. Now, in the ROM Manager you will get to see an option called “Backup Stock ROM”, perform the same so that just in case if you wished to get back to your original version of firmware then you can easily apply the same update again.
Procedure to Backup the Original Stock ROM
- Now, you will have to choose the option of “Flash Cyanogen Mod Recovery” as shown in the below screen capture.
- Now, after this you will have to select the option of “Install ROM from SD Card” and then you need to choose the file which is named as “update-cm-7.1.0-ToshibaFOLIO-signed” and then the process of firmware update will be commenced.
Note: So, once the device has been successfully updated, you now need to ensure that the APN Settings are restored successfully or else you will not be able to access the internet as well as the 3G.
- Just in case if you face issues like force close errors then you need to first get into the recovery mode. In the recovery mode, select Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition and then reboot your device by selecting reboot system now option.
As soon as the firmware update is done, the phone will be restarted and there you go you are now on the latest version of Gingerbread 2.3.7 firmware.
