How to Update Verizon Wireless Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 to Factory Default Firmware

Procedure to update Galaxy Tab 10.1 with Stock / Factory Firmware:

  • First up you need to download the Verizon Update for Tab 10.1 zip from here after which you just need to unzip the same. Please note that in the process of the unzipping you will be asked to enter the password. Enter the password as “androidadvices.com” without the inverted comas.

  • Once you extract the file, you will now see that there are two files in all. One will be the odin flash tool and another will be the tar file which is nothing but the firmware file which we will be using the same in the due course of the article.

  • So now from the extracted files you will have to open the Odin flash tool in your computer and then you need to turn Off your Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 so that you can then enter into the download mode which is a must before proceeding.

  • The download mode can be entered by first turning Off the tab first and then followed by which you will have to press the Volume Down Button followed by which you need to Power On the device.

  • As soon as you enter into the download mode, you now need to connect the Galaxy Tab to the computer using the USB cable which you got at the time of purchase or in the box.

  • Now as soon as you connect you will see that the ID : COM section in the Odin turns yellow which will confirm that all the drivers have been successfully updated and you are now ready to select the firmware file.
  • To select the firmware file you will have to click on the PDA option in the Odin and then you need to select the tar file which is there in the extracted files. Match all the settings as mentioned in the below screen capture.

  • After selection of the tar file in the PDA, you now will have to match all the selections which are there in the below screen capture and then click on the “Start” option in the Odin to begin the process of firmware update. As soon as the firmware update is done you will now see that the Tab will get restarted automatically on by its own after which you see the home screen in your tab which will mean that the firmware has been successfully updated.

Note: Please note that after clearing the cache you will have to reconfigure the APN settings after updating the firmware to access the data services and the Internet services as all the Internet APN settings will be reset. You will have to contact your Service provider to get more info on the APN Settings. Not to forget also configure the MMS Settings.
