Xiaomi is all set to launch the Mi 4 smartphone in India on January 28. At the sidelines of the Beijing event, Xiaomi’s Vice President of International Operations, Hugo Barra, announced an event in New Delhi on January 28.
The Mi 4 comes with a 5-inch Full HD display and is powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor and 3GB of RAM. The rear camera is a 13MP affair with Sony IMX214 f/1.8 sensor. Front facing camera is an 8 MegaPixel Sony CMOS sensor with Autofocus.
Earlier this week, Xiaomi India Head Manu Kumar Jain had revealed that the Mi 4 will be launching in India by the end of this month. Jain had also confirmed that Xiaomi’s first R&D (Research and Development) centre in Bengaluru would be ready by April this year. He claimed that the centre is spread over 20,000 square feet.
Currently, the Xiaomi is selling the Redmi 1S and Redmi Note 4G via Flipkart, the exclusive online partner of the brand in the country. Unlike the Redmi 1S or Mi 3, the Redmi Note 4G is also available via Airtel.
Xiaomi unveiled two flagship phablets in Beijing on Thursday.Chief executive Lei Jun introduced the Mi Note, saying it was shorter, thinner and lighter than the iPhone 6 Plus. Priced at $371, the 16 gigabyte model is less than half the price of Apple’s handset and Samsung’s phablet, the Galaxy Note 4. In addition, Xiaomi announced the higher-end Mi Note Pro. Xiaomi became the world’s third best-selling phone firm in 2014.
