Xiaomi had launched it flagship smartphone Mi 4, in China, last year. The smartphone arrived in India, this month only. The Mi 4 sports the 5-inch full-HD display (1080×1920 pixels), Xiaomi has used a JDI OGS full lamination display. It is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5GHz with a 330 Adreno GPU alongside 3GB of RAM. The smartphone will come in two storage variants 16 and 64GB.

Pre Requisites –
- Ensure the device battery is charged enough to prevent unexpected device shutdown (due to battery drain) while rooting the device.
- The instructions given in this guide are meant for Xiaomi Mi4 device only.
- Verify correct USB drivers for the device are installed on the computer.
- Backup your Device: Backup important data and stuff.
Steps to Root the MI4 –
- Visit the Mi4 official page and Download the official Developer ROM for your device.

- After the download is complete, transfer the Developer’s ROM in the internal storage of your device.

- Go to Settings > About Phone > Click on “System Updates ” > Tap on the top right menu on the screen and click on “Choose update package”.

- Now browse to where you have stored your downloaded ROM.

- When you select your downloaded file, automatically updating will start.

- You will see the update progress and finally a message “Reboot now” will appear. Click on it, to continue.

- While rebooting, you’ll see a progress bar under the Mi Boot Logo.Wait for it to complete.
- After your device has booted as normal after updating, cick on security app. After that click on “Permissions” and then on “Root Access.”

- You can then allow the apps are requesting ROOT access to be granted or denied as per your requirements.
Download the “Root Checker” app from the Google Play Store to check on whether the device is rooted or not.You have now ROOTED your device without voiding your warranty.
