Earlier: The head of Xiaomi India, Manu Jain has confirmed that the Mi4 will arrive in India in January. Xiaomi Mi4 was launched on July last year in China.
The delay in Xiaomi Mi4 launch in India has to do with the regulatory approval. The company is making arrangements to make Mi4 pass certifications since the phone’s hardware, and antenna calibrations have to be adjusted to make it compatible with Indian network specifications.
Recently, the Delhi High Court in an interim order had restrained Xiaomi as well as online e-commerce site Flipkart from selling in India handsets of the Chinese mobile maker that run on a technology patented by Ericsson.
But now Delhi High Court permitted Xiaomi to sell and import Qualcomm chipset based handsets till January 08. The court is scheduled to hear the case on February 5, so it is likely that Xiaomi phones will again be banned in the country from January 9 unless the court passes another similar order.
