Xiaomi cuts Mi4 64GB price by Rs 4,000, now at Rs 19,999

Xiaomi has slashed the prices of its flagship smartphone, Mi4 64GB variant, by Rs 4,000 in India. The Mi4 64 GB model will now be available for Rs 19,999 as against Rs 23,999 priced earlier. The new prices will be effective from today noon onwards and will be available at Flipkart.

The Mi 4 sports s stainless steel body and features a 5-inch IPS display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution at 441 ppi. It has a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection display.

The smartphone runs on a 2.5-GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 CPU and has 3 GB of RAM. It runs on Android 4.4.3 KitKat operating system and is loaded with the MIUI 6 user interface. Connectivity options onboard include 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

The phone has a 13-MP rear camera and an 80-degree, wide-angle, 8-MP front facing camera. It can also record 4k videos. It packs in a 3080 mAh battery and quick charge 2.0.

Earlier: The head of Xiaomi India, Manu Jain has confirmed that the Mi4 will arrive in India in January. Xiaomi Mi4 was launched on July last year in China.

The delay in Xiaomi Mi4 launch in India has to do with the regulatory approval. The company is making arrangements to make Mi4 pass certifications since the phone’s hardware, and antenna calibrations have to be adjusted to make it compatible with Indian network specifications.

Recently, the Delhi High Court in an interim order had restrained Xiaomi as well as online e-commerce site Flipkart from selling in India handsets of the Chinese mobile maker that run on a technology patented by Ericsson.

But now Delhi High Court permitted Xiaomi to sell and import Qualcomm chipset based handsets till January 08. The court is scheduled to hear the case on February 5, so it is likely that Xiaomi phones will again be banned in the country from January 9 unless the court passes another similar order.

The Xiaomi Mi4 is officially announced with 5-inch 1080p Sharp / JDI OGS full lamination display and the Mi4 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core 2.5GHz processor and 3GB LP-DDR3 RAM. There are two variants, with the 16GB and 64GB eMMC storage. Camera wise, there is a 13MP rear and 8MP front Sony stacked CMOS camera. The Xiaomi Mi4 has a 3080 mAh Lithium-ion polymer battery. Along with this, the company also announced the Xiaomi Mi Band, the cheapest fitness tracker band for the price of $13.

The smartphone just announced in the Chinese market, will come with the MIUI v6 which is going to be launched on August 16th. The pricing of the Xiaomi Mi4 is set at $320 for 16GB version and $400 for the 64GB version.

After the Xiaomi Mi3, the Chinese manufactures Xiaomi is all set to launch its flagship device called as the Xiaomi Mi4 that will be the successor of the Mi3 on July 22nd. The device has been listed on the OppoMart website with some leaked specifications. Moreover the predecessor of the Mi4 was priced relatively low considering its specification and now this flagship model will be priced at $499.

We all know Xiaomi is called as the Apple of China and recently the CEO of Xiaomi, Lei Jun wrote on his Weibo account that “The journey of a piece of steel metal,” that indicates that Xiaomi Mi4 will be featuring a metallic finish. However the device will be featuring some high end specifications like all the flagship devices and will be competing against the smart phones like LG G3, Samsung Galaxy S5, Sony Xperia Z2, HTC One M8, OnePlus One and many other devices.

In the OppoMart the specifications of the Xiaomi has been listed and according to it the device will be featuring a 5.5 inch display and will be coming with a 2K quad HD resolutions of 2560 x 1440 pixels that will give out a pixel density of 538 ppi. The device will be powered with a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor that will be clocking at 2.5 GHz and will be accompanied with a whooping 3 GB of RAM.

The Xiaomi Mi4 will run Android 4.4 KitKat OS out of the box with the company’s own MIUI V5 on top and will have a 16 MP primary camera with LED flash and OIS for image stabilization. The device features a 5 MP camera on the front and will be powered with a 3200 mAh battery on the back. The handset will support 4G LTE globally and will have all other normal connectivity options.

Xiaomi is all set to launch the device officially today so we need to wait until the company unveils the device official today to know all its specifications.
