The China’s most popular smartphone maker, Xiaomi released the Redmi Note 3 in China back in November 2015. The company has been teasing the launch of the smartphone in India for the past couple of weeks. Today, the brand has officially launched the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 smartphone in India at an event held in New Delhi. It is the first smartphone in the Redmi Note series to sport an all-metal body. The Redmi Note 3 is priced at Rs. 9,999 for 16GB version & Rs. 11,999 for 32GB variant.

Coming to the specifications part, the Redmi Note 3 flaunts a 5.5-inch (1080×1920 pixels) full-HD display offering a pixel density of 401ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 laid on top of it for protection. Under the hood, the smartphone comes powered by 64-bit Snapdragon 650 hexa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz paired with Adreno 510 GPU when compared to the Chinese version that packs a MediaTek Helio X10 SoC. The device supports dual sim dual standby and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based MiUi 7 out of the box.
On the photographic section, the smartphone features a 16MP rear camera with PDAF for quick focus, dual-tone LED flash, f/2.0 aperture and a 5MP front-facing shooter with f/2.0 aperture for video chats and stunning selfie images in any lighting conditions. The smartphone comes with 2GB/3GB of RAM, 16GB/32GB of built-in storage and also includes a microSD card slot for further expansion upto 32GB. Connectivity options on the device include 4G-LTE/3G HSPA+, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS, IR blaster for remotely controlling home appliances and a microUSB 2.0 port with OTG support.
The Redmi Note 3 feels premium in hand with all-metal unibody design and also includes a fingerprint sensor that can unlock the device in just 0.3 seconds. The handset fuels a massive 4050mAh battery that the company claims have the energy to last easily for upto 16 hours of mixed usage on a single charge and with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0 technology the battery can juice upto 50% in just an hour. The dimensions of the device measure 149.9 x 75.9 x 8.65 mm weighs 164 grams and will be available in Silver, Gold, and Dark Grey color variants.
To recap, Xiaomi has recently launched the upgraded variant of the Mi 4 called as Xiaomi Mi 4S in China priced at $260. The smartphone features 5-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 808 hexa-core SoC, 3GB RAM, 64GB of storage, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front snapper, USB Type-C port, Infrared sensor, 4G-LTE with VoLTE and runs on latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. The Mi 4S features looks stylish with glossy unibody design and feels premium in hand with the metal frame around its sides and also includes a fingerprint sensor placed on the back of the unit for enhanced security.
