These days we say many smartphones from various companies passing through many verification websites before the company officially unveils them for the users. Today, two new smartphones from Samsung with model numbers SM-J5108 and SM-J7108 has received TENAA certification revealing most of the specifications of the devices. The smartphones listed are the next-gen Galaxy J-series handset and will probably be called as Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) and Galaxy J7 (2016).
Samsung Galaxy J5 2016 (SM-J5108)
As per the TENAA listing, the smartphone will come with a 5.2-inch (1280×720 pixels) HD Super AMOLED display and will come equipped with an unspecified 64-bit quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz. The device will support dual sim dual standby and is expected to run on Android 5.1 Lollipop based TouchWiz UI overlaid. It will come with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of onboard storage and also includes a microSD card slot for further expansion upto 64GB.
The smartphone will sport a 13MP rear camera with laser autofocus, LED flash and a 5MP front-facing camera with LED flash to capture crisp selfie images in any lighting conditions. It comes with standard connectivity options like 4G-LTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS and a microUSB 2.0 port. The dimensions of the device measure 145.7 x 72.3 x 7.9 mm weighs around 155.4 grams and is listed in White, Gold and Pink Gold color options.
Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 (SM-J7108)
The Galaxy J7 2016 (SM-J7108) will flaunt a 5.5-inch (1080×1920 pixels) full-HD AMOLED display with 401ppi as pixel density. Under the hood, it packs an unspecified 1.6GHz octa-core processor clubbed with 3GB of RAM. The device also supports dual sim dual standby and runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box. It will come with 16GB of built-in storage and can be further expanded to 128GB via a microSD card slot.
The device will sport a similar set of cameras like the Galaxy J5 (2016), a 13MP rear camera with laser autofocus, LED flash and a 5MP selfie shooter. The device features standard connectivity options like 4G-LTE, GPS/A-GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and a microUSB 2.0 port. Its dimensions measure 151.7 × 75.9 × 7.6 mm and weights 165 grams and will be available in Gold and White color variants. The Galaxy J7 (2016) is also listed in another variant with model number SM-J7109 with a different 1.2GHz octa-core chipset.
The Galaxy J5 (2016) and Galaxy J7 (2016) will feature a similar design, and they are expected to sport an all-metal body. The devices can also house fingerprint sensor integrated into the physical home button on the front. As the next-gen Galaxy J-series smartphones have received TENAA certification, we can expect the company to make the handsets official soon.
