Earlier, we exclusively reported a new mid-range smartphone from Asus in its Pegasus series with model number Asus_X005 getting certified by TENAA. Recently, the Taiwanese smartphone maker, Asus has officially launched a new smartphone adding to its Pegasus series called as Asus Pegasus 5000 in China. The smartphone features impressive specifications, but the main highlight of the device is its massive battery.
Coming to the specifications part, the Asus Pegasus 5000 flaunts a 5.5-inch (1920×1080 pixels) full-HD display offering a pixel density of 401ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 laid on top of it for protection. Under the hood, it comes powered by MediaTek MT6753 64-bit octa-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz paired with Mali-T720 GPU for smooth performance of the device. The device supports dual sim dual standby and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based Zen UI out of the box.
On the photographic section, the smartphone sports a 13MP rear camera with LED flash, f/2.0 aperture and a 5MP front-facing shooter for video chats and selfie lovers. It comes with standard connectivity options like 4G-LTE/3G HSPA+, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and microUSB 2.0 port with OTG functionality. The device has 2GB/3GB of RAM, 16GB of onboard storage and also includes a microSD card slot for expansion upto 32GB.
The handset powers a long-lasting 4850mAh battery that has the energy to last for a couple of days on a single charge. The device features a premium design with a metal frame around the sides and its dimensions measure 155 x 76.4 x 9 mm weighing around 176 grams. The smartphone is priced at 1,299 Yuan (approx $197/Rs. 13,400) for the 2GB RAM variant while the 3GB RAM variant costs 1,799 Yuan (approx $273/Rs. 18,545). The Asus Pegasus 5000 comes in Blue and Gold color options and will be available for purchase soon via China Telecom. The company has not revealed any plans for the launch of the smartphone in other countries. Stay tuned for more updates!
A quick recall, Asus has recently launched a new non-Zenfone series mid-range smartphone called as Asus Live in Brazil priced at $210. The smartphone features 5-inch HD display, MediaTek MT6580 quad-core chipset, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of built-in storage, 8MP primary camera, 2MP front shooter, 2070mAh battery and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. The only downside of the device is it lacks 4G-LTE support.
