The little known Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Cubot has recently launched its flagship smartphone called as Cubot X17 priced at $170. Today, the company has announced a new mid-range smartphone called as Cubot P12 in China. The smartphone is currently listed on the brand’s official website without pricing details and will be officially launched soon.
Regarding specifications, the Cubot P12 comes with a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) HD IPS display with 294ppi as pixel density. Under the hood, it comes equipped with MediaTek MT6580 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz coupled with Mali 400 GPU and 1GB RAM. It has 16GB of internal storage that can be further expanded using a microSD card slot upto 32GB.
Talking about the camera, the device sports a 13MP autofocus rear camera with LED flash and an 8MP front-facing shooter for video chats and the selfie-loving world. The smartphone supports dual sim dual standby and includes basic connectivity options like 3G, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS, HotKnot and microUSB port with OTG support. The only downside of the device is it misses the trick of 4G-LTE connectivity.
The smartphone also features Smart awake and gesture control for faster access to applications. The handset comes backed by a 2200mAh and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. The dimensions of the device measure 143.9 x 71.5 x 8.1mm and will be available in Black and White color variants.
