Fix for Samsung Keyboard exploit is here which is one of the greatest threat for Samsung smartphone users. While, this bug / issue will be fixed in the software updates which will be pushed to the users in the days to come, we will tell you now on how you can fix this bug. Thankfully, Samsung has mentioned that the exploit is not yet made till now and is only possible when both user and hacker are in an unprotected network which is very rare.
What’s the Problem?
It has been reported that theoretically on an unsecure network it is possible to piggyback on the language packages as they’re updating. While there are no cases reported for the same, Samsung has just issued this advisory and released a security policy to invalidate potential vulnerabilities caused by this issue.
How to Fix Keyboard Exploit in Samsung Devices?
While Samsung is fast pushing these updates to all the devices globally which are affected, you need to make sure that the below mentioned steps are followed;
1. Open Settings,
2. Enter into the “Security” option,
3. Scroll down to tap on “Other security settings”,
4. Select “security policy updates” &
5. Make sure that “Automatic updates is checked”
You can also choose the preference to get the updates on WiFi only or on WiFi / Cellular.
Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S4 Mini, Galaxy S5, and Galaxy S6, on AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon are the affected smartphones and Samsung is making sure that the updates are fast rolled out. Also, for the devices in which Samsung Knox is not enabled by default too will be getting these updates from Samsung in some or other form.
