After launching the high-end Elife E8 smartphone in India, Gionee is gearing upto launch yet another smartphone in India dubbed as Gionee Elife S Plus. The main selling point of the Elife S Plus is it features a USB Type-C port. The device is priced at Rs. 16,999 and is expected to launch in next couple of weeks.
Commenting on the launch of the Fashion series Mr. Timir Baran Acharyya, GM, Gionee India said, “In today’s fast paced time, the consumer needs and desires are evolving and they don’t want to compromise on the looks nor the specs of the device. Hence to bridge in the gap, we have introduced the all new S Plus especially in India this Diwali to meet all the expectations that our consumers are asking for. In fact, the all new S Plus is equipped with new features like Face Unlock that would help consumers unlock there device in less than a second”.
Regarding specs, the smartphone features a 5.5-inch (1280×720 pixels) HD AMOLED display with 267ppi as pixel density and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top of it. It comes powered by MediaTek MT6753 64-bit octa-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz coupled with Mali T720 GPU and 3GB RAM. It has 16GB of onboard storage that can be further expanded using a microSD card slot.
On the photography front, the device sports a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front-facing camera for video calling and selfie clicks. Connectivity options on the dual sim capable device include 4G-LTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and a USB Type-C port. The device boasts a 3150mAh battery that can last for complete one day on mixed usage. The handset is just 7.5mm thick and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based Amigo 3.1 OS out of the box.
Gionee Elife S Plus is the company’s first ever smartphone to feature a USB Type-C port and as it is priced under sub 20K range is also one of the most affordable smartphones to feature a USB Type-C port launched in India. The other device available is the OnePlus 2 that is priced at Rs. 24,999.
