Xiaomi has gathered a lot of attention about the launch of its upcoming phablet called as Xiaomi Mi Max. The device was recently certified by TENAA and was leaked several times revealing most of the key features and design. As teased earlier, today the brand has officially launched its Xiaomi Mi Max phablet in an event held in China. It is the first device from the company to run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow based all-new MiUi 8 out of the box.

In terms of specifications, the Xiaomi Mi Max features a phablet-sized 6.44-inch (1080×1920 pixels) full-HD display with 344ppi as pixel density and 2.5D arc glass laid on top. Under the hood, one variant of the smartphone comes equipped with Snapdragon 650 hexa-core processor while the other variant fuels Snapdragon 652 octa-core processor. The device features an all-metal unibody design with a curved back that offers nice grip to hold the device.
It comes with a hybrid sim slot that enables you to use as a microSD card slot instead of the second sim. It has 3GB/4GB of RAM, 32GB/64GB/128GB of internal storage options that can be further expanded to 128GB via an externalSD card slot. On the camera cordon, the smartphone sports a 16MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, dual-tone LED flash and a 5MP front-facing snapper with 85-degree wide angle lens to capture brilliant selfie images.
The smartphone comes backed by a 4850mAh battery that can easily last for a couple of days and also supports fast charging technology. It supports dual sim dual standby and includes standard connectivity options like 4G-LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS and a microUSB 2.0 port. The smartphone includes a fingerprint sensor on the back of the unit and also features an infrared blaster for remotely controlling home appliances.
The dimensions of the device measure 173.1 x 88.3 x 7.5 mm weighs 203 grams and comes in Gold, Light Grey and Silver color variants. Coming to the pricing, the Xiaomi Mi Max powered with Snapdragon 650 SoC, 3GB RAM and 32GB storage is priced at 1,499 Yuan (approx $230). The Snapdragon 652 powered Mi Max with 3GB RAM and 64GB Storage is priced at 1699 Yuan (approx $260), and the high-end variant with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage costs 1,999 Yuan (approx $306).
