A new unknown HTC Android smartphone has been spotted with a few excellent color options, showing that HTC is looking to provide the color panels for not just their Windows phone lineup but also for the Android devices. These brightly colored devices are said to be coming with the Octa-core chipsets which would be from Mediatek (we have seen those in a few devices from the other brands already), and HTC might be selling this in the mid-range price especially for the processor used.
The other specs of this mysterious device include the 5-inch 720p display, 1.5GB RAM and a 8-megapixel camera. From what the specs suggest, this looks something competitive to the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2, which also has a 1.5GB RAM, 8MP camera and a 720p display, but only the processor is different, not from Mediatek and not an octa-core one. On the software side, we won’t be seeing the Android 4.4 KitKat running in the device and it would probably be the Android 4.3 along with the HTC Sense 5.5, because HTC might be looking to push the latest software and interface to their flagship device first (the HTC M8 is coming soon) before any other device.
Another smartphone which is already launched and which looks pretty similar to this one, is the Huawei Honor 3X which holds quite similar specs, but a device from HTC with some competitive pricing would surely be more attractive. It is rumored that the price of this one would be around 2000 Yuan, and although there are some neat smartphones from the Chinese brands launched for similar pricing, who would want to ignore a well known brand launching something at this price range?
HTC might be looking to officially announce this, only after the HTC M8 is made official, thus we might have to wait until the MWC 2014 event when HTC shows the roadmap. The device photos leaked shows that the color options we would see are – red, yellow, orange and blue.
