The wearable gadgets are coming up in quite some pace and it was independent developers who first made a few, with one of the best being the Pebble SmartWatch, and Sony has now released two smartwatches with the SmartWatch 2 making an entry just a month back. Samsung didn’t want to stay out of the league, thus came in the Samsung Galaxy Gear, the watch for the rich! And now, to run along the rumors of the iWatch from Apple, it’s HTC who is sharing some similar rumors. The latest one says that the team at HTC is developing its own Smartwatch product, and it is through one of the sources who said there are no names to be take because this isn’t meant to be publicized just yet.
According to the same unnamed source, the HTC Watch is going to be launched in the seond half of 2014, and HTC is yet to finalize the specifications, strategy to promote and sell, and about the pricing of it. To make it more interesting, it is said that HTC will include a camera on the watch, just like in the Galaxy Gear.
For now, to add to these rumors there are a few concept photos made by a designer Hasan Kaymak, who makes it look totally different from most of the smartwatches that are available right now. The design shows that the watch might be having a 2.5-inch screen, quite bigger than that of the Galaxy Gear, and there are big side buttons beside the edge-to-edge display. The camera is being shown on the front, which looks impressive, and there are speaker grills, and if this is all made from any ideas taken from HTC, it’s going to be an excellent competitor to all the smartwatches in the market.
The currently available smartwatch to have some decent specifications is the Galaxy Gear, which has a camera on the strap and not somewhere around the screen, and by the time HTC releases their first Watch, Samsung and Sony might have come up with the next gen. smartwatches to easily compete with this. Let’s see where this is heading to.
