HTC EVO 3D Review

The HTC EVO 3D is an Android 2.3 Gingerbread based smart phone and it’s the follow-up of the most popular EVO 4G. Just like EVO 4G, EVO 3D would be available on Sprint network in USA & runs on HTC sense platform. It’s so called 3D because this allows the creating and viewing of 3D content through the use of 5 Mega pixel rear facing camera.

HTC EVO 3D Design & Hardware

Its powered by a dual core 1.2 GHz Qualcomm MSM8680 Snapdragon processor with the graphic acceleration provided by Qualcomm Adreno 220. It has got very impressive 4.3 inches 3D capable qHD touch screen which provides glasses free 3D viewing. The screen is far better with sharper details, high contract and brightness. Added to that the much required multi-touch input is provided as the processor can handle multiple of applications running together and multi-touch offers switching from one apps to another with few clicks. Its provided with accelerometer sensor for auto rotate and lock. The proximity sensor and gyro sensor to provide a better viewing angle.

It marks improvements over the EVO 4G and wear a plastic, the handset is thinner and feels less bulky in hands but mostly retains the same HTC design elements. Its provided with an internal RAM of size 1 GB and an internal memory of 1 GB. The memory can be extended up to 32 GB in size through micro SD card slot provided with it.

The camera weights 170 grams including the battery weight.

The camera is capable of recording 2D & 3D photos with up to 720 pixels HD resolution. For HTC mobile you need to check out the battery and its life. Since most of the smartphones manufactured by HTC have screen size more than 4 inches they consume a good amount of power and so the battery life is considerably reduced. But HTC has certainly improved with their battery with this new launch. EVO 3D comes with a Lithium ion based 1730 mAh battery which is capable of providing a 358 hours during 2G usage and up to 420 hours of standby time during 3G usage. The talk time on air is expected to be 9 hours in 2G mode and 7.45 hours during 3G usage.

HTC EVO 3D Price

Tough there is no official announcement from Sprint on the price of this handset but they have made it clear that it will be available on June 24, 2011. The leaked rumors of Radio Shack says the EVO 3D would be priced at USD 199.99 with as usual two years contract with Sprint network and at a price of USD 499.99 without contact.
